We're thrilled you're considering sharing your space with the creative world. While it might sound daunting, renting your property for filming is usually smooth sailing. Here’s a friendly guide to ensure you’re well-prepared, with common queries easily answered. Remember, this adventure is not just about the rental; it's about being part of something exciting - enjoy the journey!

First Meeting

When approached by a production company:

  1. Project Details: What’s the genre and story?
  2. Crew Size: How many people will be on your property?
  3. Schedule: When and how long will they need your space?
  4. Access Times: Will they need access beyond filming days?
  5. Insurance Proof: Could they provide a copy of their insurance?
  6. Living Arrangements: Can you stay in your home during filming? If not, how will accommodations be handled?
  7. Pets on Set: Will there be animals involved?
  8. Damages and Compensation: How are repairs handled and compensated?
  9. Legal Rights: Do they have permission to use your location?

Before Filming

To prepare for the camera roll:
  • Pre-filming Visits: Welcome the team for location scouting and ask them to document your home’s condition.
  • Key Contacts: Who’s the go-to person?
  • Contract Details: When and how will the agreement be signed?
  • Crew Accommodation: How will they arrange the cast and crew on-site?
  • Post-filming Cleanup: Discuss cleanup responsibilities - taking their compensation for it might give you flexibility.
  • Energy Use: How will additional utilities be covered?
  • Parking: Where will vehicles be stationed? Is a permit necessary?
  • Neighborly Notice: How will neighbors be informed if needed?
  • Safety Protocols: Where are alarms located?

After Filming

Wrap up with ease:
  • Property Review: Walk through your space with the team to check for damages.
  • Documentation: When will you receive official documentation of the property’s condition post-filming?
  • Lost and Found: Ensure no equipment is left behind.
